The Story Behind the Word
The Hebrew word צִיּוֹן (Zion) refers to the holy mountain of Jerusalem — the place where God chose to dwell among His people. Zion is not merely a geographical location; it is a theological reality. It is the city of the Great King, the place of God's presence, the destination of the nations. The prophets spoke of a day when all peoples would stream to Zion, when swords would be beaten into ploughshares, when God Himself would wipe away every tear. This stone coaster carries that ancient longing into your home. Every time you reach for your cup, you are reminded that history is moving toward a city — and the King of that city is coming.
